Chemo & Radiation: The Double Punch

When the best description of how you feel can be summed up by “the flu, only worse,” entertaining or inspiring anecdotes may be asking a bit too much.   But that’s what makes the lessons learned from this leg of the magical mystery tour so unique.

Pearls of Wisdom

If you know a queen who is currently or soon to be in chemotherapy, please pass the word to her that there is a cleaning service that provides FREE housecleaning – once per month for 4 months while she is in treatment. All she has to do is sign up and have her doctor fax a note confirming the treatment. Cleaning for a Reason will have a participating maid service in her zip code area arrange for the service. This organization serves the entire USA and currently has 547 partners to help these women. Share a blessing with someone and pass this information along. You can even donate to sponsor maid service! Add some hoop earrings and a pair of shades, and you are European chic! (Hint: The trick to good head wraps is to purchase a scarf made of fabric that is not too smooth or slippery.)

And remember that you may be looking a bit wan, especially without eyebrows or lashes, so be cautious about the colors you select. Unless you have dark or olive tones in your skin, yellow and green are not likely to be your friend. Chances are your best color is one that everyone says you look good in when you’re healthy.
